Goodbye Windows Server...
For years I ran Windows Server and Hyper-V for all my virtualisation but times have changed. I have grown, learned and made a lot of mistakes, and Windows Server was one of them mistakes.
Linux was the way forward and I will never look back from 2020 onwards.
There are many reasons I moved over to Linux for my virtualisation and below I will go through them reasons and how much hassle it has saved me over the years.

The basics
Over 90% of the worlds servers, websites or services run on Linux. This a big reason why I changed.
Linux, the open source kernal for many different operating systems including flavours such as Ubuntu, Debian and Arch, run the world's infrastructure and many of the IT systems that business run on.
Open source
It basically free real estate.
Linux on the most part is free, open source and updated by its community, unlike Windows which is a paid for service in terms or subscriptions and license fees.
For the price of a single Windows 11 license key, I can buy a full server and run as many services as I like.
Endless...
The possibilities are endless with Linux in the server space.
On Windows Server I was limited in terms of resources shared with the host OS and the basic nature of networking within Windows Sever.
Within Linux, I can share my resources equally or individually allocate on a per server basis ADHOC.
